# Report Templates

The **Report Templates** feature allows you to upload and customize report formats using [Carbone](https://carbone.io/documentation.html). Carbone enables dynamic document generation using variables and data inputs.

## Access and Navigation

You can access **Report Templates** under the **Settings** module.

Check the privilege assigned to your user account or role if you cannot view a link from the list.

## Add a New Template

* Click **+ New Template** located at the upper-right corner of the screen

* A pop-up form will appear. Fill in the following details:
  * **Template Type** – Select the kind of report the template is for
  * **Name** – Enter the template name
  * **Description** – Briefly describe the template’s purpose
  * **Template** – Upload your file in `.odt` (Open Document Format) by browsing or dragging and dropping it
  * **Applies To** – Set conditions for which users can use this template

* Once complete, click **Add Report Template** to save

## Update an Existing Template

* Click the **Pencil** icon next to the template you want to update

* Modify the necessary fields
* To replace the file, re-upload a new `.odt` file in the **Template** field
* Click **Update Report Template** to save your changes

## Download an Existing Template

Click the D**ownload** icon on the right side of any report template to get a copy of the uploaded `.odt` file.

## Delete a Report Template

Click the **Trash Bin** icon next to a template to remove it from the system.

## View Sample Data

Click **View Sample Data** on the right side of the screen to see available variables for a specific report type
