The Class Demand module allows schools to plan the number of classes to open for the next term. Edusuite’s forecasting feature suggests which courses and how many sections are needed. If a course is not opened, students can be re-advised to different classes.
You can access the Class Demand module under Planning.
If you cannot view a link from the list, check the privilege assigned to your user account or role.
Contact your school’s system administrator to request view or edit access if you cannot access the rights management screen.
Click +New Class Demand in the upper-right corner
Enter a unique description for the class demand
Choose whether to enable forecasting:
Enabled: The system forecasts sections and classes based on past enrollment trends
Disabled: The class demand will only consider active block sections, updating automatically if they are added, removed, or modified
If forecasting is enabled, configure the following options:
Algorithm Type:
Prioritize Regular Offering – Prioritizes subjects based on the term to be opened (e.g., for 1st term, 1st-term courses are prioritized)
Prioritize Earlier Course – Ideal for schools with a high volume of regular student enrollments
Minimum Students per Section – The system will only open a section if this number is met.
Maximum Advised Units – The maximum number of units a student can take
If forecasting is enabled, the class demand status will be “Forecasting” until processing is complete
