Faculties will use different types of grading values to assess students. For example, a Numeric grading type may include values such as 0.0, 1.0, 1.5, etc.

Access and Navigation

The Grading Systems module can be found under Planning > Planning Setup.

If you cannot view the link from the list, check the privilege assigned to your user account or role.

Create a New Grading System

To create a new grading system:

  • Click + Add Grading System in the upper-right corner

  • Fill out the required details:

    • Label – The unique name of the grading system template or matrix

    • Grading System Type – Choose from:

      • Pass or Fail – Define a specific passing and failing value

      • Numeric Range – Set a range for passing and failing scores

    • Value – The scores faculty members will use to grade students

    • Pass or Fail Dropdown – Determines whether a given score is a passing or failing mark

    • Students Should Not Retake Subject – Prevents students from being forecasted for a subject if they receive the assigned score/value

By default, students who fail a subject are advised to retake it. However, selecting the ‘Students should not retake subject’ option allows them to proceed with post-requisite subjects, such as those they have not yet completed.
