The purpose of this module is to define and set the variables used in academic grading systems to ensure consistency, fairness, and clarity in evaluating student performance. There are no prerequisites or dependencies for this framework. The output is a structured framework of grading components and systems for academic purposes. To access and navigate, go to Planning > Grading Setup > Academic
Pre-defined grades will allow users to create a group or selection of grading values that the faculty will be able to use.
Using this module will prevent faculty members from encoding manually. As a result, they will only be able to select from a dropdown of grading values.
The Pre-Defined Grades setup can be found under Grading Setup > Academic > Pre-Defined Grade.
Click the +New button to get started.
A new window will pop up. Complete the fields required for the promotion status. Click the Add button once done.
Below are the descriptions for each field:
Name: What to call the set of Pre-Defined Grades
Description: Provide a short description that explains the status in detail
Input: Label that is visible to Faculty when they encode grades
Saved Value: Equivalent grade of the Input/Label that the system will use to compute
Identify and select the Pre-Defined Grades you wish to update by clicking the Edit button.
Update the necessary fields
To delete an existing Pre-defined grade, click the Trash bin icon next to the status you want to remove.
A confirmation prompt will appear. If you are sure you want to delete the status, click Yes, Delete.
This action is irreversible; if you make a mistake, you can create a new pre-defined grade setting to replace it.
This manages the components used by the school to grade each subject.
The Grading components setup can be found under Grading Setup > Academic > Grading components.
Navigate to the top right corner of the screen and click the +New button to create a new grading component.
Fill in the necessary details:
Name: Enter the name of the grading component (e.g., Quizzes, Exams, Assignments)
Initials: Provide the initials for the grading component (e.g., QZ for Quizzes, EX for Exams)
Once all the details are filled out, click Add Grading Component to save the new component
Identify and select the Grading Component you wish to update by clicking the Pencil icon.
Update the necessary fields.
To delete an existing Grading Component, click the Trash bin icon next to the status you want to remove.
A confirmation prompt will appear. If you are sure you want to delete the status, click Yes, Delete.
This action is irreversible; if you make a mistake, you can create a new grading component to replace it.
This manages the Templates used by the school. The Grading Templates setup can be found under Grading Setup > Academic > Grading Templates.
Navigate to the top right corner of the screen and click the +New button to create a new grading component.
This requires setup for Academic Grading Components as the choices.
Fill out the necessary details:
Name - what to call the component
Description - more details about the template
Click on the drop-down below Component and choose from the options. Input the Percentage/Weight of the component. Multiple components can be added as needed as long as the total percentage is 100.
Once done, don't forget to click the Add template button.
Identify and select the Academic Grading Template you wish to update by clicking the Pencil button.
Update the necessary fields. Once done, click the Save Changes button.
To delete an existing Academic Grading Template, click the Trash bin icon next to the status you want to remove.
A confirmation prompt will appear. If you are sure you want to delete the status, click Yes, Delete.

The Transmutation Tables setup can be found under Grading Setup > Academic > Transmutation Table.
Navigate to the top right corner of the screen and click the +New button to create a new Transmutation Table.
Multiple transmutation tables can be assigned to a subject. For instance, a subject can have both a transmuted numerical grade and a transmuted letter grade.
Fill out the necessary details:
Name - what to call the transmutation
Description - more details about the transmutation
Input multiple Ranges and the Transmuted Grades as required. Tick the box beside the Transmuted Grade (Pass column) to indicate if the grade is a Pass. Once done click Add Transmutation Table.
Identify and select the Transmutation Table you wish to update by clicking the Pencil icon.
Update the necessary fields. Once done, click the Save Changes button.
To delete an existing Transmutation Table, click the Trash bin icon next to the transmutation table you want to remove.
A confirmation prompt will appear. If you are sure you want to delete the status, click Yes, Delete.
This action is irreversible; if you make a mistake, you can create a new transmutation table to replace it.
