# Grading Settings

Configure grading periods and access control for each term. Navigate to **Settings > School Settings > Grading Settings**.

## Grading Scheme Fields

* **Label**: Name of the grading period (e.g., Prelim, Midterm)
* **Grading System**: Select how grades are computed
* **Payables Due Date**: Students with unpaid balances may be restricted from viewing grades
* **Grades Encoding**: Enables/disables faculty access to input grades
* **Grades Viewing**: Enables/disables student access to view grades

* **+ Add Grading Period** allows you to create new grading periods
* The **red X** button next to the period's label deletes the grading period&#x20;
* Toggle settings for:
  * **Sort Class List by Sex** - This toggle allows you to control whether students in your class list are grouped and sorted by sex

* **Enable Grading for No-Exam Permits** - This toggle switch controls whether faculty can update the grades of students who do not have the required exam permit

* **Grades Access for Students with Overdue Balances** - This toggle switch controls whether students with overdue balances can access and view their grades

## Send Grades

This button allows you to send the grades of all currently enrolled students to their designated email addresses.&#x20;

To send grades:

* Click **Send Grades to Students**
* Select which grades to send
